Ch’i In The Garden
There are many things you can do to improve ch’i in the garden, which also in turn will improve the ch’i flow into your home.
Avoid planting large shrubs or trees close to the house, as this can deflect good ch’i away from the house rather then drawing it in.A good example of this is to avoid planting tall trees close to the house and not allowing branches to touch or overhang the roof.Doing this improves the ch’i flow and allows the natural daylight to enter your home without any obstructions or deflections. It also means that the roots cannot damage the foundations and leaves cannot clog up the guttering cutting down on costlymaintenance problems.
Garden Design
The concept that you are hoping to achieve within a Feng-Shui garden,is that ,of curving lines that draw your eye down the garden, without revealing all of it within the first glance.Your garden should steer away from being flat and rectangular. An easy way to rectify this, is to introduce curved pathways disappearing around various screens of plants.A water feature also is one of the essentials within a garden, but this would benefit from a pumped water system,as stagnant water creates stagnant C h’i.
Feng-Shui In The Garden
Enhancing Feng-Shui in the garden is all about introducing elements of Yin and Yang. The reason behind this is to encourage Ch’i to flow through the garden in a lazy, meandering way.The main way of achieving this is with the presence of soft (Yin) foliage and counterbalancing these with the Yang of polished gravel ,stones or rocks.

The Meaning Of Feng-Shui
In chinese feng means wind and shui means water. If you look up to heaven and then down to the surface of the earth, what you are likely to see inbetween are clouds:these clouds consist of wind and water. The ancient chinese saw wind and water as the intermediaries between heaven and earth. They thought that heaven directly affected their progress through life in a much more fundamental way than by simply providing changeable weather.
Introduction To Feng-Shui
